What would happen if you gave a 10, 7 and 5-year-old a camera to capture an entire wedding reception?

Here's what they grabbed. And I love every single photo.

"About 5 years ago I used to shoot about 12 weddings a year. But I have to say that none of them have compared to the latest wedding where I "assisted" 4 of my most favorite creatives; Philip, Liv, Charli and Naomi. My main peops. They wanted to be a part capturing the wedding and I of course, was totally ecstatic. We went to the Parachut warehouse and picked a camera appropriate for their "skill level". I mean, seriously, look at theses littles, how they're standing, how pumped they are. It's like a photography mom dream come true."

Pinners Conference

Pinners Conference

This weekend was a total sprint! Anytime you attend a conference you better believe you are totally exhausted after from the energy that you feel while you're there. And Pinners Conference is full of a bunch of Pinterest-inspired creatives wanting to up their craft. There were such great people there eager to learn and of course, I usually end up being more inspired by them.

Many people think Photoshop is a tool to hide imperfections; a way to hide cellulite, slim the waist line, get rid of wrinkles or even take away gray hair. Yes, people do that.  Magazine editors want their cover girl or guy to look absolutely perfect.  No imperfections, no character.

Photoshop is more than that.

Photoshop, to me, is a way to guide your viewer to what you want them to focus on in a photo. And sometimes, there are imperfections in the PHOTO, NOT THE SUBJECT, that distract your eye to is most important: the emotion your photo projects.

Let me show you...

Usually when someone sees a great photo on the socials, the first question or statement that a photographer usually hears is, "What lens did you use?" or "Wow, you must have a really great camera."

Now don't get me wrong, the tool is very important along with lighting, composition and subject that is in your frame.  But another huge piece of a photographer's style is the way he or she EDITS the photo. And usually editing is what takes a huge chunk of time in the creative process. Whether it's film shooters in the darkroom or digital shooters in Photoshop, both processes are hugely important to the overall aesthetics of your photograph.

Check out some of my favorite film simulation presets plus some "Before and Afters.

To my tall girls.  Where you at?

You know that I'm 6'0" tall.  And when you're tall, you don't always have the best options for beautiful, long, lengthy dresses or gowns.  That is, unless you have access to hand-made, high-end designs.  And right now, one of my favorite boutiques totally caters to my 38" leg inseam.
