reap what you sow
BY MELISSA NIU
Wesley found some seeds to harvest,
And looked down at the ground,
He wanted to make delicious fruit,
From the seeds that he just found.
He grabbed his hoe, made two rows,
Placed seeds in two by two,
He covered them up, poured water in,
And prayed for berries so blue.
But his job was not yet over,
He had much more work underway,
He watered, he weeded,
Made room for sun needed,
And repeated this day after day.
His blistered hands showed work,
He wiped sweat off his small brow,
Now that weeks had passed,
It was time for blossoms now.
He woke up right at sunrise,
And saw something very new,
Something oh so special,
Not just one, or four or two.
Berries so black, so plump and juicy,
That filled his heart with delight,
He shared his harvest with everyone,
And thanked God for every bite.
He then sat back, felt the sun on his face,
And watched his garden grow,
He deserved it, he enjoyed it,
For he reaped just what he sowed.
