We all have them. Good days and bad days seem to grace our lives with an expected uncertainty. But hear me now. These good/bad days full of challenges, fears, hurdles and hardships are all undeniable obstacles that I like to call “gifts”. Yes, friends, they are gifts. And if you answer this question below with an overwhelming “yes”, you’ll consider them gifts as well.
Do you want to find success?
Obstacles are necessary for success because…in all careers of importance, victory comes only after many struggles and countless defeats. Yet each struggle, each defeat, sharpens your skills and strengths, your courage and your endurance, your ability and your confidence and thus each obstacle is a comrade-in-arms forcing you to become better… or quit. Each rebuff is an opportunity to move forward; turn away from them, avoid them, and you throw away your future. - Og Mandino
Have you overcome an obstacle that made you stronger? Have you gained patience from a hardship that proved more patience? Have you triumphed over your own personal fear only to prove you are more than you were before? I have learned that I need to own up to obstacles and face them straight on. I know and expect my days to be full of them, and consider them a gift. Although difficult, I look them in the eye confidentially. I have learned the hard way that I can’t avoid them or turn away for it’s only prolonging my future success.
So here’s to you obstacles. Bring it.
